ŌURA, the San Francisco-based health technology company behind Oura Ring, has forged a large-scale retail partnership with Best Buy, a leading electronics retailer. Oura Ring, the smart ring that delivers personalized health data, insights, and daily guidance, will be available in more than 850 Best Buy stores across the nation, as well as on BestBuy.com. The wearable will be offered in both Heritage and Horizon styles.
With sleep as its foundation, Oura Membership fosters healthy habits to make wellness and recovery a mindful, daily practice. Validated against medical gold standards and driven by continuous monitoring of individual biometrics, the lightweight and comfortable Oura Ring is one of the most accurate wearables available.
Tom Hale, ŌURA CEO, expressed excitement about expanding the company’s presence in retail and introducing more people to the benefits of ŌURA’s technology through the in-store and online experience provided by Best Buy. This marks a significant moment for the company as it continues to grow and reach a wider audience. Hale believes that brick-and-mortar retail is a natural progression for ŌURA.
This partnership follows several smaller retail activations in 2022, including collaborations with Gucci for a limited-edition Gucci x Oura Ring, Therabody to offer Oura Ring in more than 20 of its retail and Reset locations across the U.S., and Japanese retailer Softbank, which began offering Oura Ring in seven brick-and-mortar locations in Japan and Softbank Selection Online Shop, with plans to expand in 2023.
In-store sizing, quick pickup, educational displays, and dedicated store experiences will be part of the Oura Ring’s presence in select Best Buy locations. These features aim to help shoppers understand the product and ensure they find the perfect fit. The in-store experience will include visual displays that showcase the features of the Oura Ring and the value of Oura Membership.
Approximately 70% of the U.S. population lives within 10 miles of a Best Buy store. For the first time in a large-scale format, shoppers can size themselves in person before purchasing the Oura Ring to ensure the perfect fit. In addition, 250+ Best Buy stores will have Oura Ring inventory for in-person purchase, while the remaining stores will offer fast shipping and/or in-store pickup.
Frank Bedo, senior vice president of Best Buy, stated that the Oura Ring is a natural fit for the company as it continues to bring the latest innovations in health technology to its customers. He believes that there has been incredible innovation in the wearables space and that customers are excited to utilize technology to enhance their health and wellness.
Doug Sweeny, ŌURA CMO, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Best Buy, stating that both companies value the power of technology to enrich people’s lives. This partnership will enable ŌURA to showcase its products in a dynamic and visual way for a new audience across the country.
