The MADE68 Pro  by MelGeek is a keyboard that’s all about style and gaming performance. With an 8K Polling Rate, 0.01mm precision and more that promises a top-tier gaming experience can it help me keep up with the FPS kids? Almost certainly not…but it’ll help me where it can!

ProsCons
High Quality premium feel
Cusomisation options
Great feel for both typing and gaming
Wired only
Unclear keyboard shortcuts

First impressions

The MelGeek Made68 Pro is a very slick bit of kit. The transparent color lightbar perfectly tops off a sturdy keyboard with cold metal plates on either side of a clean white enclosure, and both the lightbar and plates are user-replaceable. The keys look nicely spaced and well made, and in the box there are a few spare keys and keycap removal tools along with some little stickers. (That last bit shouldn’t matter, but we all know it does.) Overall, it looks like a strong premium product with some interesting pops of flair.

Typing and gaming

The typing experience on the Magnetic switch keys is pleasant with plenty of travel and the kind of thocky clicky sound that mechanical keyboard lovers chase. Typing in general is lovely on the Made68 Pro. The team at MelGeek really wants to drive the Made68 Pro as a gaming keyboard, and while PC gaming isn’t exactly my forte, I wanted to try and put it through its paces. I used it with Borderlands 2 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider and found the keyboard to be really responsive. Mouse and keyboard aren’t my thing at all, but this keyboard did enough to make me ask myself if I should be investing in a gaming mouse or not? Building my own PC rig however, is a way down the road.

Customisation

Customisation is another element of the Made 68 Pro that is interesting. The side panels on either side are switchable, as is the light bar across the top. I was lucky enough to use a purple version of the keyboard and wouldn’t change a thing, but with a variety of side panels and light bar options, there’s a decent variety of customisation options. Add to that the hot-swappable keys, and I feel like there’s a pretty wide variety of options to really make this keyboard your own. I didn’t get any hands-on time with the parts Melgeek offer but if they’re in line with what came stock on my review unit, then they’ll likely be of good quality too. There are plenty of backlight options with full RGB glow but I would recommend keeping hold of the shortcuts guide that comes in the box as it’s not quite as straightforward as flicking a switch or pressing a key.

Conclusion

The MelGeek Made68 Pro keyboard comes with a sleek design and enough customization to make it stand out. Pair that with a solid and sturdy build and a fantastic typing experience, and it punches up there with some of my favorite keyboards. It works and to position itself as a viable option for gamers, I don’t nitpick it to perform brilliantly throughout. I would recommend the MelGeek Made68 Pro to anyone looking for a fun and solid keyboard for work and play.
