A feature packed neck fan that can beat the heat…or the cold.

Summer is here, and it is warmer than ever. Having to carry a handheld fan is never an optimal solution to this, which is where Torras have stepped in. Releasing their Coolify 2S wearable neck air conditioning unit and allowing users to stay cool this summer without having their hands full.
Feature rich
The Coolify 2S is feature-packed, with nine different operation modes, an incredible battery life and a simple design. Torras have provided an incredible package here. Starting with what’s in the all-cardboard (an important thing to note in this day and age, sustainable packaging is always appreciated) box, users will get the Coolify 2S, a sturdy carry case and a USB-C charging lead. The carry case is a little bulky as the Coolify 2S does not fold in on itself to save space, but it is a worthwhile trade-off. We took the Coolify 2S around in the case a lot and not once did we have to worry about the protection of the unit.
Charging the unit is pretty straightforward, simply attach the USB-C cable and a small display lights up to show how much battery life is left in the unit. Our one slight issue was that if users are charging with a standard USB-C cable, the display will be upside down. Torras do supply a USB-C cable that has a connector at a right angle to alleviate this issue, but for those that want to not worry about plugging in more cables, it will be a sacrifice that will need to be made.
Torras also talk about an app for the Coolify 2S, however during testing we could not get this to work correctly. It does state it works in the UK, and we made an account (sadly using your phone number is one of the only ways to create it) but alas we were at a loss. This does mean we are unable to mention or review the app itself in this article.
As for the fan itself, it’s made of a glossy finished plastic material that both looks and feels premium. There are two fans at the ends of the unit that draw air in and push it through the two vents next to them that allow the cooled air to go straight to the wearer’s face. You might be wondering, surely having two fans that close to my face will be super loud and make it so I can’t hear anything else? Surprisingly no. Don’t get us wrong, the unit is by no means whisper quiet, but on the lowest of the three available speed settings, the sound produced is tolerable. The unit is sturdy but flexible and easily fits any neck size too. Along the inside of the neckband are two large surfaces that are used for increased cooling, or heating (more on these features later). On the outside of the unit, near the fans, are located two buttons (one on each side). These are used to change the mode and level of the unit, as well as power the device on or off. Simple, intuitive and even without reading the manual it’s easy to figure out what’s happening as the LED display shows exactly what setting the Coolify 2S is set to. This unit is available in a black or white colour option.
A lot more than cool
Now for those different modes we mentioned. The Coolify 2S comes with three different modes; fan, cooling and heating. All of which have three different intensities to them. Fan mode will have the unit only use the two fans to draw in and push air onto the wearer’s face, no extra active cooling is taking place. That said, for most daily needs this is more than enough. During testing, this mode was used for a whole eight-hour day of work without any issues. Cooling mode not only uses the fans but also uses the previously mentioned surfaces on the inside of the neckband to apply even more cooling to the wearer. Perfect for drives in the car, long days in the office or walks in the summer sun when breezes are a rarity. The final option is the heating mode, this turns off the fans and puts all the energy into those large pads against the user’s neck. It doesn’t take long for them to heat up, but they never became uncomfortable in our testing. Different audio and visual alerts will help users see which mode is selected when using the device too, meaning that they’re always in control of their experience.
We mentioned that we used the Coolify 2S for a whole day of work, which is only possible thanks to the 5000mAh battery that is inside the neckband of the device. It goes without saying that using the more intense cooling or heating modes will cause the battery life to drain quicker.
Final thoughts
Overall, Torras appear to have knocked it out of the park with this product. The sleek design, amazing features and premium feel all make this feel way more impressive than other neck fans that are on the market. That said, the high price tag will be a barrier to entry for some users. Especially in the current economic landscape, but that said with how versatile it is (and how long the battery lasts) users would not need any other fans in their life. It is a definite shame that we were unable to get the app to work, as it means we have to mark off a point for that, however from what we can see on the Torras website the app does allow for customer timers on each mode as well as some other interesting options. We were really blown away by this product, and Torras have definitely produced this summer’s coolest neck fan.
