Amazon Unleashes New Echo Line-up, Alexa-Enabled Devices Cross 500 Million Sales

Amazon has stepped up its game in the smart home arena by introducing four brand new Echo devices. The tech giant revealed that sales of Alexa-enabled devices have now crossed the significant milestone of half a billion.

The latest additions to the Echo family include the Echo Pop, Echo Show 5, Echo Show 5 Kids, and the revamped Echo Buds, all promising to provide customers with increased options to access Alexa. In addition, Amazon has also expanded the availability of Echo Auto to eight more countries globally, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, and the UK.

The company’s Senior Vice President and Head Scientist for Alexa, Rohit Prasad, mentioned that customers around the world have shown immense love for Alexa, with the use of Alexa witnessing a 35 percent increase last year.

Echo Pop, a new semi-sphere shaped device priced at $39.99, boasts fresh color options and offers full sound, perfect for small spaces. It comes equipped with a front-facing directional speaker, the Amazon AZ2 Neural Edge processor, and eero Built-in for extended wifi coverage.

The next-generation Echo Show 5 has been revamped with a faster processor and a redesigned speaker system, promising double the bass for $89.99. Echo Show 5 Kids, priced at $99.99, comes in a new space-themed design, offering kid-friendly responses, explicit lyric filtering, and a two-year worry-free guarantee.

The all-new Echo Buds are a steal at $49.99, with a semi-in-ear design, hands-free access to Alexa, and a long-lasting battery offering up to five hours of music playback on a single charge.

These new Echo devices, designed with privacy in mind, include a microphone on/off button and the ability to view and delete voice recordings. The company has also stated that all the devices launched qualify for the Climate Pledge Friendly badge, with packaging that is 100% recyclable in the U.S.
