Honiture Q6 Robot Hoover Review

Are smart vacuums becoming smarter and more affordable?

The Honiture Q6 Pro it’s at the cutting edge of robotic vacuums and has an expensive price point to match but with an impressive list of features, this bot has found a permanent place in my smart home.

Whats in the box

Inside the box, you of course get the hoover itself, alongside lots of accessories including a removable mop attachment, consumable accessories such as filters and mop sheets and the very large but clever base station with auto emptying feature, it’s great to see this amount of accessories, particularly on the consumables front to allow use for unto 12 months before needing to find consumables which are thankfully easy to come by on amazon with a little searching.

The Robot

This is not a light hoover and nor is it small but it’s still compact enough to get under TV units and over small spaces with ease, on the top, we have 2 buttons to start and auto-home the bot, as well as a shiny silver disc and that, is where the clever stuff happens. This device uses LIDAR (lasers to you and me) to physically map its space giving it a better understanding of how and where to clean. Gone are the days of your robotic hoovers bumping into every obstacle to get around!

On the front, we have a few other sensors to aid in navigation such as the standard bumping rails in case Lidar were to miss something. On the back you have the dust and mop compartment these are usually 2 seprate bins but its nice to see them as 1 here meaning its 1 less thing to remeber to change between jobs, putting the mop in and out is a breeze by just clipping it in, the reservoir can hold enough water and detergent to clean the majority of my flooring in 1 go and the dust container is actually smaller at 0.3l than its little bother the Q6 at 0.4l but honestly as it auto empties this was not a deal breaker for me.

On the bottom of the device we of course get the main spinning brush and only 1 spinning arm. This is by design and has been proven to be more effective than 2 on the front meaning you get a much better pickup rate of dirt and grime.

Robot Phone Home

The base station is just as clever as the bot with a small OLED screen on the front to give you vital information about your machine including battery life, modes and how full the dust compartment is. I like this feature as it gives me all the info I need at a glance, opening up the top we see the dust bag which is easy to remove and replace alongside the blade and brush to help with maintenance. In the lid of the base we have the dust collection bag with is nice and easy empty along with the cleaning brush to help maintain the bot.

How does it suck?

The Honiture Q6 Pro has great vacuuming ability with its above-average suction power of up to 3000 Pa. Its able to deep clean carpets and other types of floors with ease. I found the hoover itself to do a stellar job of bits of dirt big and small, it’s smart enough to know when on carpet too and boost its performance to help get all the grime up. This is the best performance I have seen from a device like this in a very long time. The device can vacuum and mop at the same time, which results in a cleaner floor, I found once again it mops well and won’t leave streak marks on the floor either and that’s a plus as usually these sorts of robots tend to use too much water leaving a streaky mess everywhere it goes, With its understanding of carpets too you wont have soggy carpets due to the mop disengaging when on carpet.

On its max suction setting this robot can get a little noisy paritucally when emptying the bin so use at night may not be reccomended unless running on a quite setting and disabling the dust bin emptying which can all be done via the app.

The App

The LiDAR can provide an accurate map that can be seen in the app. The created map helps the Honiture Q6 Pro know where it has already had and hasn’t been cleaned yet so that it can go through all the areas of your house. The smart navigation helps the Honiture Q6 Pro to clean in a systematic pattern so that it won’t ignore an area and lessens the chance of getting stuck.

The app offers a lot of options and features that help you control the vacuum, with maximizing your
cleaning experience. It allows you to control the suction power, set a cleaning schedule, set the
frequency of emptying the dust bin, customize the map, and much more. You can set virtual
boundaries in the map so that you can block off areas that you don’t want the vacuum to go. You
can also divide and name each room on the map allowing for cleaning of certain rooms at certain
times. Of course, being a smart home product this also works with all the normal home assistants
such as Google and Alexa making it easy to set up cleaning on a schedule.
It has a long battery life of up to 250 minutes, compared to other bots on the market such as the
Roborock S6 MaxV that only has a maximum runtime of 180 minutes. This is great if you live in a
large house because the Honiture Q6 Pro can clean your whole house on a single charge, and might
not need to go back to its docking station to recharge.

Conclusion

So at close to £500 can I recommend this product? I think it’s a tough one if the environment is
right sure I think this is one of the best robotic hoovers I have ever owned however if living in a
house this robot may not suit you as you will still have to manually move it between floors, if you
can get this robot on a sale for closer to £350 I would say that is a much easier pill to swallow for
anyone looking to make the mundane task of hoovering that little bit easier.
