Sharp/NEC Unveils Next-Gen P Series Laser Projectors with Enhanced Brightness and Ultra-Quiet Operation

Sharp NEC Display Solutions of America (SNDSA) has introduced the latest additions to its popular P Series of entry-level installation laser projectors. The ultra-quiet P627UL and P547UL models boast 6,200-lumens and 5,400-lumens of brightness, respectively, providing clearer images in high ambient light conditions. These projectors are designed for use in corporate board rooms, higher education classrooms, museums, houses of worship, and retail and restaurant settings.

The P627UL stands out as the quietest operating projector in the 6,000-lumen LCD laser category, thanks to Sharp/NEC’s patented sealed cooling system. This innovative system seals critical optical components to prevent dust and eliminates the need for a filter and excessive airflow for cooling. As a result, fewer fans are required, significantly reducing noise levels and making these projectors suitable for quiet applications.

With 200 lumens more brightness than their previous generation, the P627UL and P547UL operate at a decibel level between a whisper and the rustling of leaves, as noted by Ryan Pitterle, Sr. Product Manager, Projectors at Sharp NEC Display Solutions. These projectors also require no maintenance during their lifespan due to the absence of filters and 20,000-hour lasers that eliminate the need for lamp replacements.

The new models feature manual horizontal and vertical lens shifts, as well as HDBaseT input, which allows for more flexible installations. HDBaseT input also simplifies installations by enabling the transmission of video, audio, and control signals over long distances using a single cable. The projectors come with a broad 1.6x zoom lens and manual vertical and horizontal lens shift, making it easier for integrators to work around obstructions or room design variations. Tilt-free and roll-free capabilities offer additional options for floor, ceiling, and portrait projection.

The P627UL and P547UL are now compatible with ProAssist software, which supports network-based picture control and geometric correction capabilities for clear image projection on uneven surfaces. Both models are backed by an industry-leading 5-year warranty, including InstaCare and NaViSet Administrator 2 software for remote administrative management and network-based control.
