Key features of the new update include the ability to transcribe audio within clips, automatic speech-to-text subtitling, AI-powered audio classification, new Relight FX for virtual lighting, and Fusion USD support for easier collaboration among VFX artists. Remote monitoring is now more accessible with just a Blackmagic ID and a session code, and users can export their timeline to Blackmagic Cloud for multi-user reviewing and feedback.

The update also brings enhanced color management and the new Relight FX on the color page, along with the addition of three new menus to the Cut page for faster and more flexible editing. The auto subtitle feature transcribes speech-to-text automatically, making it easy to generate subtitles for timelines.

The new release enables content creators to upload videos directly to TikTok, simplifies importing and exporting timelines from other NLE applications through OpenTimelineIO (OTIO) support, and offers improved backup and restore options. Fusion now supports Universal Scene Descriptor files, and audio engineers can combine related audio tracks or mixer channels into groups for shared mix automation or editing operations.
